Last cuts being made between the few pups I have left. I will be posting more when I return from my Collie Sweeps judging in WA this weekend. I'll be doing a lot of thinking while I am up there. This last cut will be hard to make.

Pick up day

Today is pick up day, not for 2 pups but for 3 pups, the little tri girl is also going to her new home. Really sweet family and an adorable daughter Jenna. This is Debbie and Jenna's first Collie, dad David had collies in the past. This little tri girl will fit right in with them. I hope to have pictures to post.
Finally met Ginny and Kenny in person, again another awesome couple. This is always the best part, meeting these families taking the puppies into their homes. When you help mommy dog raise them from birth it's what you hope for, great families to care for them and have them be a part of their lives. So cute, Debbie and David start with D and Ginny and Kenny rhyme! Craig and I had a great time meeting all of you :-) Send more pictures and video please.
As for the trophies, I was sent a picture of all the hand painted plates I created for the Collie Club of Northern California. The table looks wonderful! I didn't get a picture of the second show. Those pieces were hand sculpted plaques. So I'm taking the week off, next week I will go full speed ahead on the Indiana Collie Club.

Just vegging out

Huge trophy order done and gone to the show! RELIEVED!!! 34 hand painted collie pieces finally finished. Yesterday I was in the car all over the place, I got home around 9:00pm. Got up this morning and realized I can veg all day today! well sort of, I have a few small orders I can get done. Need to get Sammy and Johnny ready for their new family on Sunday. Took the play pen down in the kitchen, time to start crate training the puppies I'm growing out. I'm a bit behind on their training, normally I would have started it. The order took up to much time. I've decided not to take orders for a while and go back to selling one of a kind pieces again. It's a beautiful day! Oh and I need to post the video of Gemma's girl Luna!!!! she lives in southern cal.

Birthday

Happy Birthday to me :-)
Spent the day running around getting the last of the supplies needed for the trophies. Craig took me to Cheese Cake Factory for lunch. When I got home, I locked myself in my art room and painted the last pieces. Everything is in the kiln firing. Keeping my fingers crossed! I want to open that kiln in the morning and see them all perfect. I'm pretty wiped out now. I need to catch up on my blog, emails and phone calls. Tri girl got a few calls and a few emails this afternoon, will see how it goes. Dave and family picked their tri boy up on Sunday. Great family! it was fun showing Dave ear tapping, I hope his video turned out :-) 3 more pups go to their homes this week.
Time to put dogs to bed and retire for the night :-)

Crazy weather

Well it started out nice and sunny this morning, I had the pups out playing in the yard, The clouds would roll in, then get sunny again. I was working on painting plates, it was about 2:00 pm, I look up and it was pouring!!!!! OMG I had to run outside to get the pups, just washed them yet again. Thank goodness they were sleeping in the big Great Dane size crate. So in they came, they were not happy. They wanted to be out playing. I have been really lucky with this weather, winter pups can be a lot more work :-)
So I ordered my glass kiln! I even get a free class with the deal. I will learn how to run it and I get to make a beautiful fused mosaic tile. You should see the sample! my mind is already going a mile a minute on what I can start creating for collies and shelties, I can't wait :-)
I posted a cute picture of Shanti sent to me by one of the new families, they picked their pup up last week. I was sent a nice video from a family down south. They also have one of Gemma's blue girls, her name is Luna. I will post that on Sunday. I'm beat tonight, time to kick back.

Dog Show Noise CD

Dog show noise is a CD used to help puppies get used to the loud barking, voice on loud speaker and clapping sounds. These sounds are indoor. I find the indoor loud sounds will make a young dog uneasy if not exposed early on. Most shows will not let you bring young puppies to shows. This will help, I start it on low, gradually raise the sound until your puppy seems to not care. This is about a 30 minute CD. You can loop it in your CD player.


Environment CD




Environment noise is a CD used to help puppies get used to the loud noises they may encounter in everyday life,  I used the sounds of power drill, hedge clippers, vacuum, kids playing, police siren. Loud sounds will make a young dog uneasy if not exposed early on. This can help, I start it on low, gradually raise the sound until your puppy seems to not care. This is about a 25 minute CD. You can loop it in your CD player.
